Did You Know? Ultrasound scanning of the carotid arteries is the single best predictor of stroke and heart disease.
—New England Journal of Medicine

Millions of Americans are unaware that they have risk factors for stroke, or that they may be at serious risk of death from vascular disorders. These diseases are generally symptomless until a catastrophic event occurs, such as a stroke or ruptured aneurysm. In fact, half of all stroke victims have no prior symptoms.
—Society for Vascular Surgery

“HealthYes! is the only company providing ultrasound images and detailed reports back to the client. This information guarantees that your physician gets the full story from your screening.”
—Dr. Robert Cook, Board Certified Family Medicine-D Magazine’s Top Doctors

Osteoporosis affects 44 million Americans over the age of 50, including 2-4 million men. Quantitative ultrasound of the heel is used to determine  your bone mineral density and fracture risk.

Screening Packages Offered

Heart Attack PreventionPAK

  1. 1. Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG)
EKG monitors the electrical activity and “rhythm” of your heart. EKG may detect ischemia, silent heart attack, and irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation). Atrial fibrillation can also result in clots that travel to your brain increasing your stroke risk 5-fold.

  2. 2. Arterial Stiffness Index (ASI)
The Arterial Stiffness Index (ASI) can identify hardening of the arteries, missed heartbeats, and arrhythmias. Hardened arteries cause your heart to work much harder when pushing blood through partially blocked arteries. These blockages, and the resulting strain on your heart, are a root cause of cardiovascular disease.

  3. 3. Lipid Panel
The Lipid Panel measures known risk factors for heart attack and diabetes including: Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL (bad cholesterol), Triglycerides (bad fat), and Glucose (Diabetes risk).

  4. 4. Framingham Risk Score
Framingham Risk Scoring measures your risk of a cardiovascular event (Heart Attack & Coronary Death) over the next 10 years.

Stroke & Aneurysm PreventionPAK

  1. 1. Stroke/Carotid Artery Disease
80-85% of strokes result from clots that break off, traveling to smaller arteries in the brain. Carotid Artery Disease is a leading cause of these clots. We use ultrasound to measure your blood flow velocities and identify dangerous plaque build-up.

  2. 2. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
AAAs rarely pose symptoms and are fatal in 80-90% of cases if they rupture. An ultrasound of your stomach allows us to visualize any abnormal ballooning of your aortic wall.

  3. 3. Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
It is estimated that 10 million Americans have PAD and only 25% are being treated. PAD is a strong predictor of heart disease, can cause leg pain, and in some cases the loss of a limb. We calculate your Ankle-Brachial Index to detect plaque buildup in the lower extremities.
